I have developed an athletic maintenance option for those individuals looking to be proactive, preventative and optimize performance and health. Over the years, several athletes and active adult individuals have elected to see me for prevention and proactive purposes for pain, injury or performance enhancement. The number one predictor of a future injury is a past injury. If we can keep these past problems in check and get ahead of any issues that may arise; we can prevent injury, improve longevity and even enhance performance.
If you don’t have a current injury preventing you from your activities but you have a past injury history and areas or problems that you monitor/watch so they don’t become a problem, this type of visit is for you. Here’s what it looks like:
We start by going through your previous injury history. I will then conduct a systematic movement screen. Treatment will be rendered to the soft tissues and joints in the areas of previous injury and identified impairments with corrective exercise prescription and/or training recommendations prescribed for those impairments and previous problems. If you have a minor injury we will address that first as we know pain changes motor control and is a risk factor itself that needs to be eliminated.
