United HealthCare (UHC) and UMR only pay for one treatment per visit, like a quick chiropractic adjustment. A standard visit here is more comprehensive. The $25 charge covers treatments not paid by insurance. This could include exercise instruction, treatment of multiple areas, soft tissue treatment, laser therapy, dry needling, or anything beyond a basic adjustment/manipulation office visit.
Medicare and Medicaid only pay for spinal manipulation. Therefore, any visit more than a basic adjustment/manipulation has a $25 charge. The initial visit for medicare also has an exam charge of $90 only covered by certain medicare supplement plans.
Network Health has a capped dollar amount for chiropractic services. It's about 5 or 6 visits.
BCBS usually has a $75 charge/cpt code for follow up visits. $135-$150 for the initial visit.
Other insurance carriers do allow multiple treatments per visit but most do not pay for laser therapy, soft tissue treatment or dry needling.
