Getting you out of pain and back to your activities as soon and as complete as possible is the goal.
WHAT IS YOUR TREATMENT APPROACH?
Diagnostically: We believe it’s important to identify the specific tissue/pain generator as well as identify the source of the problem. As an analogy: Where the rats are getting in and where the rats are chewing both must be addressed.
Therapeutically: We utilize evidence-based, condition specific treatment strategies for the given diagnosis.
We address the pain component with High Intensity Laser Therapy which also accelerates recovery.
We address the soft tissue component (muscles and connected tissue) of the injury with a toolbox full of soft tissue techniques including Active Release Technique, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Cyriax Methodology and others.
We address the joint component of the injury with chiropractic adjustments/ joint manipulation as well as joint mobilizations.
We address the motor control and strength component of the injury with individualized rehabilitation strategies.
CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENTS & CLINICAL SERVICES
These are the most popular techniques that people will ask about.
WHAT IS ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE?
Active Release Technique is a soft tissue mobilization technique used to restore the normal texture, tone (tightness), flexibility, and function to the affected tissue. There are several types of techniques besides ART that may be used to address the soft tissue component of the injury. We may use Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization(Popular name is Graston Technique), Cyriax Friction Massage and others. We typically use a blend of the techniques.
WHAT IS A CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT?
It is a procedure used to create a stretch to the joint. The effects include, but are not limited to, relief from musculoskeletal pain and increased in range of motion. Gentle joint mobilizations are also utilized especially in people nervous about the traditional manipulation. We can certainly tailor your treatment to your goals and preferences.
WHAT IS HIGH INTENSITY LASER THERAPY?
Laser therapy stimulates healing and reduces pain. We use this to improve the healing of acute injuries like muscle strains and joint sprains as well as in chronic conditions like arthritis and back pain. We have very high quality lasers. Of note, these are not the less powerful, less effective cold lasers or low level lasers. The clinical research consistently demonstrates better results with high intensity lasers vs low level laser and cold lasers. Here is more information if you still have questions about laser therapy.
